We Have Eaten The Fruit of Lies!

Jesus wants us to prepare for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, to be and to live as His bride.
He's given me the parallel of an engaged couple. When other people look at them, they say things like, "Oh, look how she clings to him, hanging on his arm. She's so in love with him!" And "she's so gullible that she'll believe anything he tells her!"
I'd like to propose we have such an intimate relationship with Jesus that we cling to Him in prayer - that we fully trust and lean on Him for our strength - and be trusting enough to believe every word that He says!
There is coming a great sifting and dividing of the people. God has pruned me and called me and He's gotten me to fear Him more than the people who will not receive this word. I am in no way worthy to handle His Word, but He is worthy of my obedience. I am not puffed up to the measure that I believe He's only given this special deliverance to me, but He is longing to set others free from the deception of the Devil. The scriptures keep coming to me and I can't get it all down fast enough.
Amos 8:11 "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD."
Amos 9:4, 6, 9, 15 "And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good. It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name. For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.
Look up and read Isaiah 42:5-22. Verse 22 "But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore."
I believe the greatest deception believed by the church is that Satan has convinced some of us to believe that once you're in bondage, you'll always be in bondage. God never said that. He promised just the opposite. Once you come to Him, He will forgive all sin and free you from the shackles. Satan is the master of deception and the father of lies, but the truth is in Jesus!
John 8:31, 32, 36: "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
One of the many lies believed in the church today is that you can be saved and go to Heaven, but you can't really live a victorious life. We'll still have to work throug healing the sins of our past. I don't know how many of you saw my testimony on Set Free a couple of weeks ago, but, if you did, you noticed that I didn't start out by saying that I was a victim of a horrible crime. It's for the glory of God, by the grace of God, that He has not only allowed me to be a survivor, but an overcomer!
For those who may not have been in the Revival service when I shared a bit of my testimony: At the age of 15, I was gang-raped at gunpoint by several members of a Chicago gang of 'nother race. Growing up as a child, my Mom was the one who went out to work because my Dad had a bad heart condition as a result of heart attacks. He would be the one at home after school. I had a very close relationship with him. But, in just three months of this traumatic event, my Dad passed away.
After that, I became very bitter against God and couldn't believe that He loved me. I turned to alcohol to get some relief. By the time I turned 18, I had already become an alcoholic. Realizing that I had a drinking problem, I turned to Alcoholics Anonymous for help. During one particular meeting that a friend invited me to, they asked to to tell my story about what A.A. had meant to me. I told the people that I was so happy because I was able to stop drinking. The Lord spoke so directly and so clearly to my heart, "You're not really happy." He said this to me three times.
After the meeting, we went back to my friend's house and had some coffee and pie. She said to me, "Maripat, I don't want to offend you or anything, but we're going to pray now. You're welcome to stay if you want." I replied, "Yeah. Go ahead. I don't care. I'll just sit here."
When she had finished praying, she just very quietly asked me if I wanted to say anything. I said, "Lord Jesus, I know I'm not living right. I give it all to You. Please come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and forgive me of all my sins. Please make me into the person You want me to be." And from that moment, He forgave me for all my sins and healed my emotions.
The Bible says in II Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
II Corinthians 10: 3-6 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."
One of the lies that Satan has caused many to believe is the'same lie from the beginning of creation. Satan tempted Eve and got her to doubt God's word. He asked her, "Did God really say not to eat from this tree?" He still tempts us with the same lie. Did God really say you can be free? Did God really say you can be healed? That is the strongest lie and deception that is operating today, even among the body of Christ who call themselves believers. Do we really believe God's word and take it as truth?
What I'm about to present here is, hopefully, to see the Lord reign in your lives and mine. And at the altar, to see many set free! God has already promised it, so get ready!
This is just the introduction, but, before I give you the word, I want to make it very clear that I don't want to offend anybody or intentionally hurt anybody's feelings. I just know that it's better to obey God and He'll take care of the rest. Right?
The title of this message is: "We Have Eaten The Fruit of Lies!"
Hosea 10:12-13 "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men."
Isaiah 42:21-22 "The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore."
I'm sure there are some who have deep hurts that you have kept hidden and secret from others, but God's heart is broken when we don't allow Him to search out those places in us. He is longing to heal people, but I've discovered that He will not take anything from us. He wants us to willingly give it to Him. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and He will not force Himself through a closed heart.
Revelation 3:20-22 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
Perhaps certain things that have happened in the past have led you to believe that it is not possible to be free from the pain it has caused emotionally and in the mind. But God is very clear in His word and even warns us not to believe everything we are told but to first compare it to what the Bible already reveals as truth.
I John 4:1, 4, 6, 17-18 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."
Also, in II Timothy 4: 3-4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
Ephesians 4:14, 15, 21-24: "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."
He tells us in II Peter 2:1-2 "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."
As I've mentioned before, there are many lies that even Christians have been deceived by Satan to believe. Even from the beginning, the devil has twisted God's word and caused many to trust in error.
Also, in Ephesians 5:6-11 "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth); Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."
I feel the greatest need in the church today is for us to study the word of God for knowing the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. In order for people to believe anything, there must be some basis of truth to it. What I mean is that nobody would want to believe in something if they thought it was wrong. So Satan, being the deceiver that he is, only puts enough truth in to make it sound good to us.
I Corinthians 6:9-11 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."
The lie that is being infiltrated into the church is that once you are in bondage you will always be in bondage. But it doesn't present itself as openly as to come right out and say it in those words. Just as Satan twists God's word to make it sound better to us, the biggest deception is in the realm of psychology. Instead of calling things what they are, it twists the word of God. Let me explain. The Bible calls it bondage, but in order for it to be less harsh, they'll just call it `baggage' instead.
The word calls it `being oppressed by the devil', but that may sound too strong, so they'll just call it a nicer name. Like irrational fears and anxiety attacks.
I'm well aware of God wanting us to have balance and we do need to be careful not to get into calling everything bad a demon and to assume that everything not bad is of God. But I am saying, and I will show you in the word, that the Lord is very clear about mind-altering and mood-altering drugs. Jesus wants us to give Him all the broken areas of our lives and He alone will heal them. There may be some things in your life that have just hurt so deeply and so much that you feel they're impossible to get over. But when we take a closer look at the cross and all that Jesus went through, we see He did it for every area of our lives. Yes, He died for our sins and He knew before we were ever born all the events that would take place in our lives. I believe that's one of the reasons God sent Him to be on earth - as fully God and fully man. It's so He can relate to everything we went through - and will go through in the future, only He was perfect and sinless.
Jesus knows the reasonings and explanations for taking such prescriptions. He agrees in the Word that some things just are not curable by man's knowledge, intellect or pills.
Jeremiah 30:12-13, 17 "For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines. For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after."
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
If the word of God was not true, I'd probably not even be here today. And probably not on my way to Heaven, either. There are still some areas in my life that God is helping me with and I do not pretend that I've got it all together. But I will say that God's promises are true and faithful. I choose to believe the report of the Lord.
I John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousne's."
The so-called professionals told my Mom and me that, because of experiencing such a traumatic event, the body goes into shock. As a result of all the adrenaline from the fear, it changes the chemicals in the brain. They told me I'd probably never be able to stop taking drugs. If I did stop taking them, I wouldn't be able to cope or function for any extended length of time.
I want to give God all the glory and thank Him, because without Him I couldn't cope. He gives more peace. Peace that passes understanding. He calms my soul more than Valium, Lithium or Xzanex could ever produce. Even as a babe in the Lord, back when I asked Jesus to come in to my heart, I knew I was saved, delivered and set free. That was 13 years ago in January. I will not let the rocks cry out in my place, but I will magnify the name of Jesus and exalt His name forever.
1 Corinthians 1:18-21; 25-29 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence."
Isaiah 40:1-2 "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.
God is no respecter of persons and I believe that what He's done for me He will do for you. He has given me double the peace for the amount of anxieties. He has given me double grace and mercy for the amount of bitterness and anger I had toward Him and others. He has given me double the confidence and boldness and assurance of His love for the insecurities and inferior feelings. And He continually forgives my sin as I confess it to Him. He gives joy instead of sorrow.
John the Revelator is speaking: Revelation 21:6-7 "And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."
He does not just tell us to be overcomers, but he tells us how it is possible. Revelation 12:11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
Jesus and the Holy Spirit are willing to comfort you and set you free. God has already promised to deliver you. You can be made whole. He will touch your mind. Whatever you need from Him, He will meet your need. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. The blood that was shed at Calvary still has the power today. It will reach you in your lowest valley.
If you're bound by fear, God wants to give you peace. If you've lost a loved one and it seems like the loss is too great, let the Holy Spirit minister to you. He will weep with you. There may be those who have held onto anger and bitterness from things that have happened in your childhood. Confess your unforgiveness and let the presence of God heal those wounds.
Come to the River of Life. Come and drink freely!
