BARBECUED MEAT LOAVES

MEAT LOAVES

1 lb lean ground beef
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 tb dried parsley
1/4 cup water
2 tb chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 tb prepared horseradish
1 t salt
1/8 t pepper

SAUCE

1/2 cup chili sauce
3 tb ketchup
1 t Worcestershire sauce
1/2 t dry mustard
Dash Tabasco sauce

Preheat the oven to 350deg F. Grease a shallow baking pan (or use a stoneware baking pan).
Combine all the ingredients for the meat loaves. Mix well and shape into four oblong loaves. Place these in the baking pan; do not allow them to touch. Combine the sauce ingredients and spread over the tops and sides of the loaves. Bake for about 45 minutes, basting the loaves two or three times with the drippings that accumulate.
